PVPD asks for help assisting YCSO in locating missing 2 year old boy from Beaver Creek Campground
Search Underway for Missing 2-year-old boy

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - Deputies, along with search and rescue personnel, are currently involved in the search for a missing 2-year-old boy last seen in the Beaver Creek Campground. The campground is located south/east of Highway 179 off I17. The boys name is Syler Newton and he has light brown hair, blue eyes, and was wearing only a diaper. He is approximately 3 feet tall and weighs about 20 pounds.

Syler was last seen around midnight inside a tent while sleeping with other family members. At about 1:45 AM this morning, the family discovered he was missing from his sleeping bag. They searched the area briefly and called 911 after failing to locate the child. Deputies arrived on scene and began a preliminary search and interviews with nearby campers.

Currently, YCSO has over 50 personnel on scene as part of the coordinated search effort. DPS Ranger completed a flyover this morning and is expected to return and search further.

If anyone has information regarding Syler and/or his whereabouts, please contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately via 911 or 928-771-3260.

P.V. man arrested on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault during violent domestic dispute. On June 25th at approximately 5:36 A.M. Prescott Valley Police responded to the 4600 block of Stageway for a report of a physical domestic dispute.

Alleged family fight leads to charges of false information animal cruelty for Prescott Valley man. On May 17th at approximately 10:46 P.M. Prescott Valley Police responded to a call of a possible fight and stabbing in the 3200 block of Tani Drive in The Town of Prescott Valley. A male subject called the police and reported a fight. Local woman to be honored by receiving the Arizona Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for her work with crime victims.

Sue Rutherford saw a need for an organization to assist victims in the community she lives and serves. In 2000, Sue was instrumental in developing the Yavapai Chapter of Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. that became an affiliate of the national TIP organization in 2006. Sue has been the inspiration and driving force behind TIP and built it into what it is today. She is currently the Executive Director of the Trauma Intervention Programs of AZ. Early morning accident sends Prescott Valley man to a Flagstaff trauma center. On March 25th at about 0546 hours Prescott Valley Police Officers responded to an injury accident involving a Gray 2008 GMC half ton pickup driven by 41 year old Dana Gonzalez of Prescott Valley, and a bicycle operated by 57 year old Jeffrey Bundesen, also of Prescott Valley. Attempted homicide update…………..

Prescott Valley man arrested for attempted 2nd degree murder after stabbing his brother during a physical domestic dispute

On February 28th at approximately 3:10 A.M. Prescott Valley Police Officers responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Roadrunner drive for a report of a stabbing. On February 12th at approximately 2:20 P.M. an 8 year old Dewey girl was seriously wounded by family member’s 3 year old male Pit Bull mix named “knuckles”.
At approximately 3:19 Animal Control Officers responded to YRMC East Campus to investigate a report of a delayed dog bite. Once on scene they learned that the victim and her family were visiting a grandparent on Bear Blvd. in the Orchard Ranch RV Park in The Town of Prescott Valley. The victim, an 8 year old female, was playing in the residence when the dog apparently ran to the child and bit her on the face. Family members were able to verbally get the dog to release, but the child had already sustained serious injuries to her face. The attack appeared to be unprovoked. On January 20st at 10:15 P.M. Prescott Valley Police Officers were called to a residence in the 4200 block of Robert Rd. for a family fight that possibly involved an attempted stabbing. When officers arrived they learned that there had been a domestic disturbance involving 20 year old James Adam Hanson, his adult live in girlfriend and several other people. On January 11 at approximately 6:40 A.M. the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) with assistance from the Prescott Valley SWAT team, executed a search warrant for a residence in the 9800 block of Reavis Circle in The Town of Prescott Valley.

Detectives were working off information provided that the residents of that address, 35 year old Anthony Walters and 26 year old Ashley Lynn Walters, were dealing in illegal drugs. Investigators executed a search warrant for that same address and couple in June of 2009. During that search they located and seized: 245 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, firearms and over $39,000 in cash. To read the entire press release, please click HERE.

On February 22, 2007 Prescott Valley Police Officers investigated a burglary at the Open Door Baptist Church on Stevens drive. Unknown suspects entered the church and broke a glass door and other items inside the church. They also wrote profanities on a wall and a dry erase board inside the building. The Prescott Valley Police Department investigated allegations that a Prescott resident, identified as 50 year old Richard Ray McBride, had been harassing/stalking his adult ex-girlfriend. McBride was reported to have followed the victim, called her repeatedly and made other attempts to contact her at her residence. A recent Arizona Youth Survey indicates that nearly 50% of 12th graders and 25% of 8th graders in Arizona have used alcohol in the past 30 days (http://www.azcjc.gov/sac/AYS.asp). PVPD receives three grants to aid in public safety efforts in the Prescott Valley area. PVPD recently received several grant awards from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety totaling $74,090.70. Funds will be used to purchase new equipment and to support various activities targeted at identifying and taking action against aggressive drivers, impaired drivers, occupant protection, speeding and other highway safety laws to reduce injuries and fatalities throughout Prescott Valley. PVPD arrested two local men in connection with multiple burglaries. On December 21st Officer Payne was on patrol in the area of Hoffman and Loos in The Town of Prescott Valley when he observed an open door at a Beauty Salon that appeared to be closed. On December 14th Prescott Valley Police took a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card from a female Prescott Valley resident. The victim attempted to use her debit card for fuel and noticed it missing. After contacting her financial institution, she learned that her card was used several times on the 12th, which is the day she may have lost the card. On December 11th at approximately 5:40 P.M. Prescott Valley Police Officers observed a suspect that was wanted for a crime committed in early December. They caught up to him at the Fry’s Center in Prescott Valley. The Officers exited their vehicle and approached the suspect, identified as 33 year old Stephen Andre Smith III, and told him he was under arrest. PVPD arrest Prescott man on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault
On December 8th the Prescott Valley Police took a report from a victim in Sedona who reported she was repeatedly assaulted in a Prescott Valley hotel room.

Officers learned that the 48 year old female victim was friends with the suspect in this case, who is being identified as 50 year Angelo Tornambe of Prescott.
